for you this year!
Do you like to garden? Do you take quiet walks on the beach or in the
woods enjoying the bounty of nature and collect fallen leaves and flowers? One of our projects this year is eco-dying tiles
and paper with all sorts of leaves, twigs, moss and rusty bits, then exploring tangle
techniques on the resulting beautiful paper.
This is an amazing process that you can repeat at home to create
spectacular art pieces or fashion into a booklet showcasing your work.
Another class focuses on the soft and subtle art of
Subtractive Tangling…
And then again… there is playing with colour to a
tangler’s delight…
We love to surprise and delight you…
So treat yourself, come and join us…Saturday and
Sunday, June 16-17, 2018.
We also invite
you to the Centre on Saturday Evening for optional tangling and fellowship
time. The Tangle Island Store will be available with a variety of Zentangle supplies,
pens, paper, handmade journals and Twinkling H2Os….

and a chance to get to know the group. Please be aware space is limited, although we do offer a waiting list.
If you are new to Zentangle, please take a beginners class prior to attending. To do this check with the teaching schedules of Jerryann Haggart at Tangled Artistry, Nancy Dawes at I Teach Tangling. Or try a CZT in your area such as Rhonda Roy at A Tangling Life (Parskville), Barb Round (Campbell River), or Natasha Dash (Vancouver area).

Tangle Island Registration Open for June 10-11, 2017
2017 Tangle Island Workshops are planned for June 10-11, 2017. Registration is now open and available for your convenience. This year we have a number of payment options so be sure to check out the registration page for all the information and options.
We will be learning zen quilling, doing some fun lettering with the parallel pen and other fun surprises.
Jerryann and I have a full schedule of amazing NEW classes for you this year. Workshops are at the MacMillan Arts Centre from 9:30 to 4:30 both days as well as a short time before and after for sales and clean-up. We also have the Centre open on Saturday evening for anyone who would like extra Tangle and hang-out time.
Once you register, you will be invited to our Facebook page for further communications and a chance to get to know your fellow students.
If you are new to Zentangle and need to take a beginners class, Rhonda has a class scheduled Friday night at the Centre. Please register directly with Rhonda at A Tangling Life.

June Workshop a Success!
Everyone received their project kit in a beautiful butterfly box with lots of goodies to play with. Then we all created watercolour wash backgrounds with both Twinks and Tombows. All the pages were truly unique with the personality and colour choices of the artist.

There is always food at these wonderful events! We had finger food style fruit, veggies, cheese and crackers and best of all - chocolate!
We finished off the weekend by recognizing a new CZT on Vancouver Island, Rhonda Roy.
All in all, it was a fabulous time. We'll be announcing registration soon for the next Tangle Island workshop in October 2016.

Some folks have asked about taking a beginner Zentangle course prior to the June 4-5 Tangle Island workshop. Rhonda Roy has graciously set up a class on Friday, June 3rd in case you need it.
The class will be from 6-9 pm at the McMillan Arts Centre 133 McMillan Street Parksville - and will be $47.50 - mini-kit included.

Tangle Island 2016
Hello from Tangle Island!
This year instead of a full-on Tangle Island Retreat we are offering two
Tangle Island Workshop Weekends:
Saturday and
Sunday: June 4th & 5th and October 1st & 2nd
We are offering these at the MacMillan Art Centre in beautiful
Parksville, where so many enjoyed the gorgeous parks and beaches at Tangle
Island last year.
In order to make these affordable, we are simply charging for the
workshop (all supplies and a snack smorgasbord) and leaving it to you to select
from a range of accommodations and dining venues from high end spa (The Beach
Club.. we love it) to low end (RV on the Beach…does it get any better?) Check
out the accommodation list we have provided and find the perfect fit for your
Tangle Island adventure!
Each workshop will be unique with its own theme, supplies, tangles and
projects. Twice the projects and twice the FUN!
